About MunchAlong
Every bite has a story.
MunchAlong helps adults meet in small groups at public food and drink venues.
A Munch is an ordinary shared moment. It might be coffee before work, tea during an afternoon break, a snack while passing through a city, or a simple meal with people you have not met before.
MunchAlong was created because meeting new people should not always require a formal event, a professional objective, a dating profile, or a large social gathering.
Our purpose
MunchAlong makes it easier for people to share ordinary moments with others.
You might be new to a city, travelling, working remotely, taking a break between appointments, or simply open to meeting people outside your usual circle.
The purpose is not to build an online audience. The purpose is to meet, talk and share a Munch.
What makes MunchAlong different
Every Munch is limited to a maximum of four people, including the Host.
There are no followers, popularity scores, public star ratings or private messages.
A Host does not approve or select individual Guests. A person joins while a place remains available.
Profiles are intentionally limited. MunchAlong focuses on the shared moment rather than encouraging people to judge each other through detailed personal profiles.
Who MunchAlong is for
MunchAlong is for adults who are open to respectful conversations with people they may not otherwise meet.
MunchAlong welcomes people from different backgrounds, cultures, languages and life experiences.
Who MunchAlong is not for
MunchAlong is not designed for dating, professional networking, selling, recruitment, political campaigning, fundraising or private parties.
A dedicated page explains this in more detail.
Our role
MunchAlong provides technology through which users create and join Munches.
MunchAlong does not organise or supervise the gathering, reserve the venue, select the participants or guarantee that anyone will attend.
Each person decides whether to create, join, attend, leave or cancel a Munch.
Our approach to safety
Every Munch must take place at the public food or drink venue shown in the Munch.
MunchAlong provides Check-In, Find Each Other, Safety Override, private feedback, attendance records, moderation tools and account restrictions.
These tools support accountability. They do not remove the risks involved in meeting people you do not know.
Participants remain responsible for their behaviour, purchases, travel decisions and personal safety.
